Juggle:
One-Hour Studies
For this work, I juggled one to six paint-covered balls for one hour on top of white paper. I wanted to revel the pattern of the body's motion while juggling through the paint on paper. The resulting patterns of paint show the physical motion of the act of juggling and marks from dropped balls. I am pushed past my own ability level as more balls are added. The result is more drops and resulting splatters. I am interested in how failure, while showing my own inability to keep the balls in the air, creates more interesting and beautiful patterns on the paper. What constitutes 'failure' is merely relative to our perception.
